Open Water Layout Hunts

Here at Full Choke Waterfowl we specialize in open water layout hunts, targeting sea ducks and divers from the Neuse River to the Cape Fear. Our 2 man Waterfowl Works layout boat comfortably hunts 2 men with ease.

$150 a shooter for a 4 man group

$200 a shooter for walk on hunts (dependent on availability)

What to Bring and Expect

Hunters will need their North Carolina hunting license and federal duck stamp, shotgun and plenty of shells. Sea ducks and divers can take a few shots to finish. We suggest waders or waterproof bibs, since being in the layout can get wet on occasion but hunters will not be directly in the water. Unlike your standard blind hunts, being in a layout has the birds up close and in your face with shots ranging from 15 yards and out. Your guide will also provide a hot cooked breakfast in the tender boat while you wait to switch shooters.
